Texas Salsa Congress Howdy! Yes, it’s that time of year again! Come one, come all for another Texas-sized serving of Salsa at the 2nd annual Texas Salsa Congress. With five months left to go, this event is proving to be the talk of the town and the one dance event you don’t want to miss. Last year, the Texas Salsa Congress had the combination of all the right ingredients: 3 Nights of Social Dancing, 45 Dance Shows, 20 Salsa Workshops taught by elite instructors and Location, Location, Location!!! Did I mention location? The Congress, which will be held once again at the Westin Oaks, is located in Houston’s prestigious Galleria mall. For those of you that may read this again yes that is correct the hotel is located in the mall. To the surprise of our participants last year, you did not have to go far to explore the likes of such stores as Gucci, Prada, and Express – just three of 375 Galleria stores. In fact, throughout the day you actually had to choose which activities you attended. When attendees were not attending one of our twenty workshops, they could be found either resting poolside or enjoying TSC basketball tournaments. In fact, we even had a few instructors/performers (I am not going to mention any names - Ismael, Edwin and Al) that maybe played a little too much and boarded their planes back home more sore than they had ever been with dancing alone.
